Visits
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients of every age, including on Saturdays. Send an appointment request with two or three times that work and the front desk will confirm one, usually within one business day.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, a list of any medicines you take, and your glasses if you need them to read. If you finished your forms in the patient portal, that's all. Plan on about 90 minutes.
How long does a first visit take?
About 90 minutes: x-rays, a cleaning with a hygienist, an exam with the dentist and time to talk through anything we find. Visits after that are usually 60 minutes.
How does an appointment request work?
You choose a reason for the visit and two or three windows that suit you. The front desk matches you with a real opening and texts or emails to confirm. Urgent requests are reviewed first.
Do you see children?
Yes. Dr. Okafor and our hygienists see children from their first birthday. The first visit is short and relaxed, and parents are welcome in the room.
Do you take walk-ins?
We see patients by appointment so nobody is rushed, but we hold time for urgent visits every weekday and on Saturday mornings. If a tooth hurts or broke, call (512) 555-0163 before you come in, or send an urgent request online and we'll call you back within one business hour.
Is there parking?
Yes. Free parking is in the Larkspur Commons lot right outside Suite 110, including two accessible spaces by the entrance. The number 19 bus stops at the corner.
Insurance and payment
Which insurance plans do you take?
We're in network with most PPO plans and many employer and union plans, and we'll check DHMO and state plans for you. We verify your benefits before the visit and give you an estimate of your share. Without insurance, see our self-pay prices and the BrightSmile Care Plan.
What if I don't have dental insurance?
You'll see self-pay prices before any treatment. Many patients join the BrightSmile Care Plan: $349 a year covers two cleanings and exams, routine x-rays and one urgent visit, plus 15% off fillings, crowns and whitening. The kids plan is $249 a year: two cleanings and exams with fluoride, one urgent visit, and 20% off sealants and fillings.
How do I pay?
We take cards, HSA and FSA cards, and Apple Pay or Google Pay. For treatment over $500 we can split the cost into three monthly payments with no interest.
Urgent care
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call the office at (512) 555-0163. We keep time for urgent visits every weekday and on Saturdays. If you have severe swelling, trouble breathing or bleeding that won't stop, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room first.
I chipped a tooth. Can I be seen soon?
Usually the same or next business day. Send an urgent request or call the office, and save any piece of the tooth in a clean container. We'll call you back to find the first opening.
Comfort
I get nervous at the dentist. Can you help?
You're not alone, and it's something we plan for. Tell us when you request a visit and we'll book extra time, explain each step first and stop whenever you raise a hand. Headphones and warm blankets are in every room.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes. We're open until 7 PM on Wednesdays and from 8 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays, with hygiene and dentist time on both.

Is BrightSmile a real dental office?
No. BrightSmile Dental Studio is a fictional practice created to demonstrate the platform. Please don't enter real health or insurance information anywhere on this site.
