How long it usually takes

6 to 10 months from the first design meeting to move-in, including 4 to 7 months of construction. Permits and custom orders are the usual reasons a schedule moves, and we tell you as soon as we know.

    Most families stay for kitchen-only phases and move out for the 6 to 10 weeks of heaviest work. We plan the sequence around your choice.

    Older houses hide surprises. Every proposal carries a contingency, and unused contingency comes back to you.

    Some clients split a whole home plan across two years. We design it all at once so the second phase fits the first.

How long does a whole home remodel take?

Most whole home remodels take 6 to 10 months from the first design meeting to move-in: about 8 to 12 weeks of design and selections, 3 to 6 weeks for permits, then 4 to 7 months of construction depending on scope. Your project manager builds a written phase schedule during design. Until then these are typical ranges, not a commitment.

Do we need to move out during the remodel?

For kitchens, baths and basements, almost never. We set up dust walls, protect floors and can help you plan a temporary kitchen. For whole home remodels, many families move out for the heaviest 6 to 10 weeks, and we plan the schedule around it.

What happens if you find something behind the walls?

Every proposal carries a contingency allowance for exactly this. If we open a wall and find something that changes the plan, your project manager shows you photos and a written change order before we continue. Unused contingency is credited back at the end.
